Vietnam has committed to working diligently to maximise its use of official development assistance, National Assembly Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan assured World Bank Country Director in Vietnam Victoria Kwakwa in Hanoi on February 3.

The government bodies are putting the finishing touches on regulations for ODA-funded projects, Ngan said, adding that Vietnam looks to acquire more experience and support from the WB in drafting a long-term development strategy.

She also expressed her desire for WB assistance to the National Assembly in sharing legislative experience, conducting studies on draft laws, and policymaking.

Kwakwa praised the Vietnamese legislature for adopting a myriad of Laws and Resolutions during its eighth session, and pledged the WB’s support in bringing these laws to life.

The guest also assured the WB will liaise with the Vietnamese government to undertake poverty alleviation projects.

The WB is supporting the Vietnamese Government in building Vietnam Report 2030.
