Nai, world No 14, topped the quarter-finals round with 79 points, beating Murat Naci Coklu of Turkey, world No 10, Cho Myung-Woo of South Korea, world No 27 and Kim Hyung-Kon of South Korea, world No 48.

Nai will take on Dick Jaspers of the Netherlands, world No 1, Marco Zenetti of Italy (No 7) and South Korean Cho in the next round.

Another Vietnamese representative Nguyen Quoc Nguyen (No 9) was eliminated from the event.

The tournament, which has a prize purse of US$241,600, has attracted the top 24 players in the world.
