Nam Dinh won 5-3 in the penalty shootout following the goalless draw in normal time.

Nam Dinh reached the play-off as they finished second from bottom in the national premier league, while Ha Noi B finished second in the first division.

“Before entering the match, my players were stressed,” said Nam Dinh coach Nguyen Van Sy.

“However, I am very happy as my players overcame the pressure. This win was deserved.

“When they played in the penalty shootout, I believed that they could do well. They are very experienced,” said Sy.

Sy also said there will be an improvement next season.

“We have had a plan for the V.League 2019. Surely, Nam Dinh won’t struggle like this season as my players gained more experience,” Sy added.
