To go to Nam Du archipelago, you have to take a bus from Saigon’s Mien Tay coach station to Rach Gia City in Kien Giang province. The fare is about VND150,000-VND170,000 per ticket. You should take the bus at 11pm to arrive at Rach Gia at 6am the next morning.

From Rach Gia, you will take a speedboat to Nam Du. There is only one trip/day at 8.15am. The return ticket is VND440,000 ($22).

The high-speed boat arrives at Hon Lon Island of the Nam Du archipelago at 11am. After lunch, you should rent a boat to visit small islands in the archipelago. The fare is between VND1.5 and VND2 million ($70-100) in two days. 

Although Nam Du archipelago consists of 21 islands, you will be taken to the most beautiful islands, where you can swim, dive to see coral, go fishing or catch nhum, a local specialty. Hon Dau (Dau islet) has a large sand-bank where you can set up camp overnight and enjoy a seafood barbecue.

Also, you can rent motorbikes or walk to the lighthouse to look at the beautiful scenery on Hon Lon island.

You can spend your night in the house of local people, priced from VND150,000 to VND200,000 a night or set up your camp on the beach. The service charges is VND70,000 ($3.5) per person.
