Nam's rival Samuele Ramazzotti had retired injured from the third set, ending the match 6-4, 3-6, 1-1.

Nam will take on Filipino Alberto Lim, who is coming off the championship title in the doubles category of the 2015 ITF Asian Closed Junior Championships recently concluded in India, or Vasil Kirkov of the US in the next round.

At the tournament, the world junior No 14 Nam and Alberto will compete in the doubles category.
