Nam in first-round Wimbledon exit
Viet Nam's top tennis star, Ly Hoang Nam, was eliminated from the 2015 Wimbledon Junior Championship's first round in London on Saturday.

Nam, ranked world junior No 13, was defeated 3-6, 4-6 by world junior No 35, Patrik Niklas-Salminen, of Finland.
It's worth noting that this is only the second tournament in which Nam has played on grass, losing in the first round at last week's Nike Junior International Roehampton event.
VN third in U15 Japan-Mekong tourney
Viet Nam ranked third after defeating Laos 1-0 at the Japan-Mekong U15 Football Exchange 2015 in Japan.
Viet Nam had a good start as it scored a goal at the last minutes of the first half.
Following the break, Laos failed to level the score.
Also, Japan defeated Sanfrecce Hiroshima 2-0 in the final match to triumph at the event, which attracted the participation of eight teams.
Sprinter Huyen to train in Russia
Rising running star Nguyen Thi Huyen will be trained in Russia following her recent victories, the National Sports Administration has announced.
Huyen of Nam Dinh won two gold medals in the women's 400m race at the 2015 Asian Grand Prix in Thailand in late June. She also won three gold medals for Viet Nam at the 28th Southeast Asian (SEA) Games in Singapore, booking two official berths for the 2016 Rio Olympics.
Meanwhile, Quach Cong Lich will be sent to the US for training.
Lich, of Thanh Hoa, won a gold medal in the men's 400m race at the 2015 Asian Grand Prix in Thailand. He clocked 45.99sec, breaking his own national record of 46.02s and beat the SEA Games' record of 46.00s held by Thailand's Sukkaew Kunanon.
The Singapore Games, he also brought home a silver medal during the same race.
In the US, Lich will practise with his sister, Asian Games silver medallist Quach Thi Lan.
As planned, Huyen, Lich and Lan will leave for their training in early August.
Trang wins White Nights in Russia
Vu Thi Trang won the women's singles title of the 2015 White Nights, an international badminton challenge that wrapped up at Sporthall Arena in Gatchina, Russia, yesterday.
Trang, world No 49 and seed No 5, easily beat seed No 2 Rong Schafer of the United States 21-14, 21-14 in 40 minutes at the final match.
Earlier, in the semi-final, Trang, who was born in the northern province of Bac Giang, crushed seed No 1 Linda Zetchiri of Bulgaria 21-6, 21-13 in the semi-final.
Another Vietnamese representative and seed No 1, Nguyen Tien Minh, failed to take the men's singles title after losing to seed No 7 Vladimir Malkov of Russia 21-16, 21-12 in the final match that lasted 50 minutes.
In the men's doubles event, Kien Keat Koo and Boon Heong Tan of Malaysia defeated Marcus Ellis and Chris Langridge of England 21-10, 21-12 to take the title.
The US$150,000 competition, organised by the National Badminton Federation of Russia in collaboration with the Badminton Federation of Leningrad, attracted 202 players from 32 countries across Asia, Europe, and Pan America.
