VietNamNet Bridge – Vietnamese Duo Ly Hoang Nam and Nguyen Hoang Thien came from behind to beat Malaysian rivals Ahmed Deedat Abdul Razak and Mohd Assri Merzuki in the quarter-final round of the Viet Nam Men’s Futures F7 tennis tournament yesterday (Oct 20) in Becamex Binh Duong.

Nam and Thien, seeded fourth in the tournament, lost the first set 2-6 before coming back in the second with a 6-4 victory. They continued their strong performance to win the super break 10-7.

In the semi-finals, they will play No 2 pair Francis Casey Alcantara (Philippines) and David Agung Susanto (Indonesia).

In another doubles matcht, Kim Young-seok and Noh Sang-woo of South Korea beat a mixed pair David Nguyen of the US and Artem Vu of Viet Nam 7-6 (3), 6-3.

In the singles pool, Nguyen made a bang when he sent No 1 seed Kento Takeuchi of Japan home with a 7-6 (4), 6-3 win.

No 6 seed Rishab Agarwal from India was also eliminated after his 6-7 (2), 4-6 defeat of Rhett Purcell of Great Britain. No 7 David Agung Susanto of Indonesia suffered same fate losing 6-7 (4), 5-7 to Kelsey Stevenson of Canada.
