Nam, who won three gold medals for Becamex Binh Duong at the National Sports Games early this week, will spend a month training.

He will be back for the Viet Nam Open on January 1-12 in Da Nang, his first international competition of the year.

"My number one target is to get in the world top 300 in 2019. Last year I lost at the semi-finals of the SEA Games. In the 29th SEA Games next year I hope to play better to win a gold medal for Vietnam because I am one of two top seeds in the region now," Nam said.

Nam is currently No 406 in the world.
