VietNamNet Bridge – Many members of the public have expressed doubt about the practicality of a new regulation which stipulates that localities, schools and companies should be informed if their residents or employees commit traffic violations.

The law also requires public notice of people who have committed serious violations in order to warn other people of dangerous drivers.
Violators' local authorities and employers would be responsible for reprimanding and educating violators upon receipt of a notice from police.
Pham Nguyen Vu, director of a private company in Ha Noi, said he would refuse to spend time educating his staff about the traffic law.
"Staff traffic violations have nothing to do with the operations at my company. The law and the police, not the company, are in charge of this," Vu said.
"We don't plan to spend time popularising the law. We have no time," he added.
Pham Quang, who works for an online news website, said his company only posted the names of people who committed serious violations on their website, such as assaulting a police officer or dangerous driving.
Quang said the press had never taken responsibility for disseminating information about road violations until now.
Nguyen Ngoc Quynh, a traffic police officer from the Ha Noi Police Division No 3, said that without co-operation from local authorities and employers, the regulation would have limited effect.
"They (local authorities or employers) must make sure that they receive the notice and reprimand violators as required," Quynh said.
A report by the municipal Traffic Police Department showed that the police have informed companies or schools of more than 200 traffic violations since Monday.
Last year, the police sent information notices regarding about 6,850 cases of traffic violations to localities and asked them to raise awareness of the traffic law but few reported results.
