VietNamNet Bridge – South Korean Namkung Soyoung won the final stage and overall yellow jersey of the International Women's Cycling Tournament on Saturday.

Gold standard: South Korean Namkung Soyoung celebrates after winning the overal yellow jersey at the International Women's Cycling Tournament on Saturday.

Namkung completed the 67km stage from Can Tho City to Long Xuyen City in 1hr 42.17min and clocking a top speed of 39.303kmh.

Uwano Minami of Japan and Tran Thi Phuong Trang of Vinh Binh-AG Rice finished second and third.

With this stage win, Namkung won the yellow jersey for the best overall time of 11:43.53, followed by Kim Sola and Uwano Minami.

The green jersey award for best sprinter also went to Namkung with 67 points.

The South Koreans led the team race with a combined time of 35:12.40. Japan and Vinh Binh-AG Rice were the runners-up.

Au Xuan Don, the event's organiser said the domestic teams tried their best and won a few stages of the event, though the participation of three foreign teams made the race a highly competitive event.

A prize of VND200 million (US$9,500) was awarded to the title holders. The overall winner pocketed VND25 million.
