VietNamNet Bridge – The National Assembly’s function is supervising agencies, not settling specific cases, said the Vice Chair of the NA Committee for Culture, Education, Youth and Children, Ngo Thi Minh.

Vietnam’s Got Talent contestant complains to National Assembly

Minh told VNExpress newswire that she had received the letter of Quynh Anh, a contestant of Vietnam’s Got Talent reality show last Friday (February 24). “I was quite surprised because the case was being settled down but the girl dug it up herself,” she said.

Minh said that her committee is responsible to supervise agencies, not to settle specific cases so Quynh Anh’s petition would be transferred to relevant agencies.

“I will send a letter to Quynh Anh’s family to explain about the committee’s right and duty and the process of settling her complaint. Quynh Anh is under 18 so she needs her family’s guardianship. The family needs to contact relevant bodies to solve the case,” she added.

On February 24, 15-year-old contestant Le Nguyen Quynh Anh sent a letter to the National Assembly, accusing the organizing board of the Vietnam’s Got Talent of arranging the show, which made her suffer from “spiritual violence.”

Many people said that this is not a letter written by a 15-year-old girl, because the words are very sharp and bitter. However, the girl’s mother told VNExpress newswire on February 27 that Quynh Anh wrote the letter.

Also on February 27, Quynh Anh’s father – Le Anh Tuan sent a letter to some newspapers. He said that the producer and organizer of Vietnam’s Got Talent guided the public opinion to spiritually terrorize his daughter and his family. His daughter and his wife became characters in a comedy which was aired on February 25, and in a ridiculous article on a big newspaper on February 26.
