VietNamNet Bridge – The National Assembly Standing Committee on January 6 decided to organize the election to the 13th National Assembly and People’s Councils on Sunday, May 22.

This will be the first time people will be casting their votes for the National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels on the same day.
The members of the Central Election Council will be made public in mid-January 2011.
The council will have 21 members, including the National Assembly Chairman as the Chair of the Central Election Council. The vice chairs will be state, government and National Assembly officials and members are representatives of sectors, social organizations, etc.
The assistant agencies for the Central Election Council will be also set up. National Assembly Vice Chair Uong Chu Luu will be the leader of the sub-committee on election complaints. NA Vice Chair Nguyen Duc Kien will lead the sub-committee for election PR and NA Vice Chair Huynh Ngoc Son will head the sub-committee on election security.
