VietNamNet Bridge - The draft amendment of the 1992 Constitution will be discussed in the upcoming National Assembly session, in the two day session that will be televised live.
The session will open on May 20 and will last for more than a month. This will be the first session to implement the resolutions of the National Assembly of the vote of confidence for the people who hold positions elected or approved by the National Assembly and the People’s Council.
On June 13, the Congress will hold the vote of confidence for state and government leaders, including: Chairman and Deputy Chairs of the National Assembly, National Council President, Chairman of the National Assembly Committees, the State President, the Vice Presidents, the Prime Minister, the Deputy Prime Ministers, ministers and other members of the Government, the Heads of the Supreme People’s Procuracy and the Supreme People's Court.
The voting results will be announced the same day.
Also at this session, the Congress is expected to spend two days, June 10 and 11 to discuss the revised draft of the 1992 Constitution. The sessions will be broadcasted live on the national VTV channel.
Concerning the legislative process, the National Assembly is expected to pass 10 bills, including the revised law on corporate income tax, revised law on value added tax and the revised enterprise law.
The NA Standing Committee will also report the withdrawal of three bills: the Civil Status Act, the revised Customs Law, the revised law on the Vietnam Fatherland Front, and the revised Law on Social Insurance.
It is expected that the Congress will vote to pass the amended Land Law at the end of the session, although many proposed to cancel the approval of this law until the adoption of the draft amendment to the Constitution.
