Key State leaders will face a confidence motion during the National Assembly session in October.

The National Assembly is scheduled to convene its year-end session in late October, during which it will hold a vote of confidence for key State apparatus leaders elected and approved by lawmakers.

The sixth session will last for 25 working days and will be divided in two phases, with the first lasting from October 23 to November 16, and the other from November 24 to 29.

The confidence motion is set to take place on the morning of October 24 and the results will be announced hours later.

Under a resolution approved in June 2023, the National Assembly will hold a vote of confidence for positions elected or approved by the National Assembly in the State apparatus.

Among them will be the State President, the National Assembly Chairman, the Prime Minister, Cabinet members, Chief Justice of the Supreme People’s Court, Procurator General of the Supreme People's Procuracy, and the Government Inspector General.

However, State President Vo Van Thuong, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha, Environment Minister Dang Quoc Khanh and head of the National Assembly Committee for Finance and Budgetary Affairs Le Quang Manh will be exempted from the confidence motion as they were all elected and approved by the National Assembly this year.
