VietNamNet Bridge –The 42nd meeting of the National Assembly Standing Committee closed in the capital city yesterday morning, July 14. It was also the last activity of the 12th National Assembly.

According to Tran Dinh Dan, Director of the NA Office, the first meeting of the 13th National Assembly will convene here on July 21 and close on August 6.
High on the agenda will be the election of the State President, Prime Minister, NA Chairman and other important positions in the legislative body and Government.
Dan said on July 23, law makers would vote for the NA Chairman, Vice Chairmen and members of the Standing Committee.
He said that on July 25, they would elect the State President and on July 26, they would elect the Vice State President, Prime Minister, Chief Judge of the Supreme People's Court and Director of the Supreme People's Procuracy.
In the following days, lawmakers will discuss cabinet positions, including Deputy Prime Ministers and Ministers.
On August 3, they will cast votes for cabinet. And on the same day, on behalf of the new Government, the Prime Minister will deliver his inauguration speech.
On the remaining three days, from August 4-6, delegates will discuss socio-economic issues and the State budget, including the Government's proposal to grant a tax holiday or reduction to some categories of taxpayers in 2011.
Dan also said that during the first meeting, the National Assembly would consider and adopt a resolution on the implementation of the 11th National Party Congress's Resolution and the Resolution of the second Plenum of the Party Central Committee on the revision of the 1992 National Constitution and the establishment of a committee to carry the task out.
