VietNamNet Bridge – The festival opened at the Chi Lang stadium in the central city of Da Nang on December 25.

The opening ceremony entitled “Aspiration and Shining” had the participation of over 2500 dancers, students and athletes.

The first stage took place in 20 provinces in Vietnam earlier this year, with 41 sports, totaling 879 sets of medals.

The second stage is taking place in Da Nang, with 12 sports, totaling 240 sets of medals. Sixty-six groups participate in the events, with 7266 athletes from all provinces in Vietnam.

The festival will close on December 31.

At present, Hanoi tops the medal tally with 153 gold, 112 silver, 103 bronze medals. HCM City ranks second with 102, 88 and 106 medals.
