VietNamNet Bridge – The National Sports Games, a multi-sport event held every four years, officially opened at Hanoi’s My Dinh National Stadium on Sunday evening.

Vietnam’s top three athletes, including Olympic gold medallist Hoang Xuan Vinh, took charge of the torch relay and lit up the venue.
The event attracts the participation of more than 7,000 athletes and 2,500 coaches from 63 cites and provinces across the country, competing in 36 sports including golf, karatedo, wushu, pencak silat, athletics, swimming, boxing and fencing.
Several events have already begun, such as bodybuilding, springboard, rowing and tennis.
Most of the events will be held in Hanoi, while mountain bikers will head to Hoa Binh Province and beach volleyballers will take to the beach in Khanh Hoa.
The event will last until December 10.
