VietNamNet Bridge – The national football team of Vietnam will play a friendly game with the national squad of Mozambique at HCM City’s Thong Nhat Stadium on June 23, to celebrate the 32nd anniversary of the bilateral diplomatic relationships.



The upcoming match will be Phan Thanh Hung’s third friendly game since he was appointed as the team’s coach. In the two previous games vs. China and Hong Kong, Vietnam was defeated 0-3 in the first and won 2-1 in the second.

To prepare for the third game, the team will group up in HCM City on June 19 for drilling in two days. The friendly match will take place at Thong Nhat Stadium, as part of activities to celebrate 32nd anniversary of Vietnam-Mozambique diplomatic relations. Mozambique promised to send its best players to Vietnam.

Hung said he would use the same players who took part in the two previous games. The only one change would be made for the midfield because Van Quyet has been called back to the U22 national squad to prepare for the qualifier round of U22 Asian Championship.

The coach is highly appreciated after the first two games. Though Vietnam was trounced 0-3 by China, the team was complimented for the ability to organize rapid attacks and to create pressure on the rival. In the second game, Hong Kong scored a goal first but Vietnam won the game finally.
