VietNamNet Bridge – The Shakespeare classic Hamlet, will return to the stage in Viet Nam early this June. It is the first play in a long line of world classics to be performed by the Viet Nam National Drama Theatre.
The production team of Hamlet posed for its premiere last March. The play will open again early this June.

Director Anh Tu, stage designer Doan Chau, and musical producer Giang Son have all joined the project.
Tu has voiced a pretty radical stance on the world of Hamlet renditions, to date.
"There are many versions of Hamlet around the world, but I like none of them because the characters seem to speak too much and act too little. Monologue is crucial in classic plays, but I think it is also important to have the audience both listen and watch", he said.
Actors Xuan Bac and Tuan Minh, who are up for the role of Hamlet, will have a lot of work ahead.
In Viet Nam, the play was performed for the first time in 2003.
Tu explained that Hamlet was chosen for this year because it would be a challenge that could re-confirm the status of the national theatre in Viet Nam after a recent bout of difficulties.
He added that the message that the rendition is inspired by is one that says facing and fiercely fighting against the crime is a worthy venture, though sometimes we have to pay a high price.
