National Tourism Year 2014, with its theme of, ‘High Mountains and Thick Forests of the Central Highlands’, will include 45 events, according to an announcement by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

13 events will be held by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and 15 events by the Central Highland provinces. 17 further events will be curated by the Lam Dong Province.

Events marking National Tourism Year 2014 will include a Cultural Week to Celebrate the UNESCO Viet Nam Heritage Festival, a festival of brocade arts, a Central Highlands fashion show and a festival of Central Highlands wooden statues, as well as an international gong festival and a food festival.

A festival marking the 120th anniversary of the establishment of Da Lat City and the fifth annual Da Lat Flower Festival will also take place to promote tourism in Lam Dong province.

A series of sporting events including an elephant race, a boat race, and several folk games will also be held during the year.

National Tourism Year 2014 will be an international event that introduces local and international friends to the natural landscape and people of Viet Nam's Central Highlands region, with a focus on Lam Dong - Da Lat.
