VietNamNet Bridge – The 2012 National Youth Shooting Championships are taking place at the National Sports Training Centre in Hanoi from August 23 to 30.

The eight-day event has attracted more than 120 male and female shooters representing nine teams from across the country including hosts Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Hai Phong, Vinh Phuc, the Military team, Thanh Hoa, Hai Duong and the Army team.

The participants are competing for sets of medals in 14 categories for men and ten categories for women.

Hanoi came in first at last year’s tournament with a total of 15 gold, four silver and nine bronze medals, followed by Ho Chi Minh City with seven golds, five silvers and six bronzes, and Hai Duong with four golds, one silver and two bronzes.

The 21st annual competition provides a good opportunity to select and nurture promising young talent for the national shooting team.
