VietNamNet Bridge – The Viet Nam Red Cross yesterday gave a US$50,000 donation from the Vietnamese Government to the US Red Cross to support victims stricken by tornadoes in the US.


According to the US Government, more than 600 tornadoes touched down and killed at least 310 people in seven states during April. In the State of Alabama alone, 210 people were killed, more than 1,700 were injured and around 1 million were without electricity.

Hospital with helipad to be built in Ha Noi


The Ha Noi Planning and Architecture Department has unveiled plans for a hospital equipped with a helipad.

The helipad will be located on the roof of the 12-storey main building of the new National Hospital for Tropical Diseases.

The modern, 1,000 bed hospital will be built to the west of the Bac Thang Long – Noi Bai highway in Dong Anh District, not far from Noi Bai International Airport.

No planned power cuts during school exams


Ha Noi Electricity has confirmed there would be no planned power cuts throughout the city during this year's high school graduation and entrance exams from today to the end of this week and from June 20 to June 24.

Relevant companies were ordered to implement checks to avoid unexpected outages.
