No need to travel to Da Lat - visitors can capture breathtaking photos at a vibrant pink grass hill just 70km from Hanoi.
In Chi Linh City, Hai Duong Province, the pink grass hill has become a popular destination in late autumn, as the grasses are at their most radiant, creating a picturesque scene.
The pink grass hill is part of a three-hectare area owned by Mrs. Tran Thi Thu in Chi Linh City. It is located on the slope of Ho Giang Hill, about 500 meters from Con Son Lake.
According to the hill’s owner, this pink grass was planted in early 2023 and is originally from Australia, where the family successfully grew it in Da Lat. The area also has other plants like roses, crape myrtle, myrtle, grapefruit, guava, and starfruit to add greenery, shade, and aesthetic appeal to the landscape.
Photographer Mai Thanh Minh from Hai Phong shared that the pink grass blooms twice a year. In summer (around May and June), the grass takes on a light pink shade, while in late autumn and early winter (from mid-September to mid-November), it turns a deeper, more vibrant pink - ideal for photography and check-ins.
During peak bloom, the vibrant pink hue covers the entire area. When a breeze flows through, the grass sways against the green backdrop of the sky and mountains, creating a poetic, romantic scene reminiscent of Da Lat’s pink grass season.
For a dreamy look, Minh suggests that visitors wear bright, flowing outfits like ao dai or maxi dresses to complement the scene’s romantic vibe. Additionally, the area has props like swings and benches for visitors to enjoy or take wedding photos.
The ideal time to capture beautiful photos at the pink grass hill is in the morning (7-8 am) or late afternoon (4-5 pm), when the light is soft and the weather is pleasant, allowing visitors to enjoy sunrise or sunset views.
The route to the pink grass hill is accessible, and visitors can reach it by motorbike or car. Minh recommends that visitors refrain from stepping on the grass or littering to help preserve this unique natural setting.
While visiting Chi Linh, guests can explore other attractions like Thanh Mai Pagoda, Hoang Hoa Tham maple forest, Con Son Pagoda, Kiep Bac Temple, Nguyen Trai Temple, and the Hoa Re Fields.
Don’t miss the chance to savor Hai Duong’s local delicacies, like cha ruoi (worm sausage), banh gai (glutinous rice cake), mung bean cake, gac rice paper, and fish noodle soup.
