The beach track provided divisions for both a men’s and women’s full marathon at 42km, a half marathon of 21km, a 10km course, a five km FunRun, and a kids’ run of 1.5km.

The marathon was first held back in 2013 and has developed into one of the largest marathons in the nation with running tracks certified by the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS).

The 11th edition of the event sees runners racing from East Sea Park over the Rồng (Dragon) and sông Hàn (Han river) bridges, the Marble Mountains, and on to the beach track on the Son Tra peninsula.

Edwin Kiptoo Yebe of Kenya in the men’s category and SEA Games 2013 champion Pham Thi Binh in the women’s category are among the outstanding athletes competing in the tournament.

Le Tan Hi, the winner of the Da Nang international marathon back in 2019, also competed in the tournament this year.

The event is scheduled to last through to March 24 and is expected to promote the tourism industry and boost the sporting movement among local people, according to the organisers Pulse Active Company.
