Almost 100 people were hospitalized for food poisoning after attending a wedding party in the northern port city of Hai Phong on August 5.

A number of wedding guests showed symptoms of food poisoning during a wedding party in the Tieu Tra residential area of Hung Dao ward, Duong Kinh dítrict.

Most of the guests experienced headaches, vomiting and dizziness shortly after leaving the party. First aid was administered and they were admitted to the Duong Kinh district hospital. They were then sent to nearby hospitals for further treatment.

It is thought that the green bean rice cakes on the party’s menu, which also included frog meat, pork, chicken, and beef pie, possibly caused the food poisoning.

The incident is being investigated by functional agencies and local authorities.
