Tran Ky Hinh, general director of the Viet Nam Register, said that if these automobiles continued to be used, there could be high risk of accidents. It is also against the Law on Road Traffic and Decree No. 95/2009/NĐ-CP, he added.
According to Decree No. 95/2009/NĐ-CP, promulgated in October, 2009, trucks made in 1995, passenger automobiles made in 1990 and trucks made in 1993, but registered to be used for carrying passengers before 2002, will be forced to stop operations.
Viet Nam Register has issued the lists of motor vehicles whose quality certificates had already expired or are going to expire next year on its website vr.org.vn so that individuals and other authorised agencies can easily check the information.
