VietNamNet Bridge - An online society entitled "Advocates for teacher Pham Le Quynh Tram" has been set up to appeal to supporters for Quynh Tram, as well as against the proposal to cancel the decision to recognize her female sex.

Given that the recognition of female sex of teacher Quynh Tram is against the law, the Binh Phuoc Provinciall People's Committee has asked the local Justice Department to advise withdrawal and cancellation of the decision even though the decision has taken effective for over four years.

The Binh Phuoc authorities said that the acceptance of female sex determination for Ms. Pham Le Quynh Tram (formerly Pham Van Hiep with male sex) is unlawful.

Quynh Tram said: "I’m really surprised by this information. Although I do not receive the formal decision but Tram still feel sad."

When the information was posted on the media, it faced harsh reaction of many people. Thousands of readers have sent feedback to newspapers showing their dissatisfaction with the decision of the People's Committee of Binh Phuoc province.

On Facebook, many young people simultaneously wrote letters calling for the online community to use the avatar with the six-color flag to support Quynh Tram in particular and the community of lesbians, gays and bisexuals in general.

Even a society called "The Association of advocates for Pham Le Quynh Tram" has been designed to appeal to supporters for Quynh Tram as well as against the proposal to cancel the decision to recognize her female sex.

The administrator of this association wrote on the fanpage: "This is pressing information in public these days. This is an unwarranted act and the reasons given are not satisfactory for everyone. The teacher has suffered many physical pains, mental decline in discrimination and experienced how many hardships in obtaining a paper that recognizes her true self. It is only a sheet of paper, but it is her life. She spent the first half of her life to get it. The local government would not see her tears when holding that sheet of paper. Why they deprive of the right to be her own. She is also human...!!! "

In other fanpages, netizens constantly update the images and articles about teacher Quynh Tram with love and respect. Majority of the advocates for Quynh Tram are teens, those in the LGBT community and also the heterosexuals.

Members expressed their grievances before the Binh Phuoc authorities’ decision. One wrote: "I support Ms. Quynh Tram. There are questions posed to the local government: Why they suddenly cancel the decision after four years and why initially they approved her gender-change? Why they hurt the transgender like this?"

Besides expressing their pressing attitude, they showed their sympathy and wish good things for Quynh Tram. "I and the community always support Quynh Tram. Don’t be sad! You are a woman more than a woman," one wrote.
