
According to the General Statistics Office under the Ministry of Finance, a total of 107,700 new enterprises were registered across the country in the first seven months of 2025, with a combined registered capital of approximately USD 36.5 billion and 670,000 registered employees.
In July alone, 16,500 new businesses were established with a registered capital of about USD 4.6 billion and nearly 79,000 registered employees.
Compared to June 2025, this represents a 32.3% decrease in the number of newly registered businesses, a 33.6% decrease in capital, and a 42.4% decline in the number of registered employees.
Compared to the same period in 2024, the number of new enterprises increased by 4.7%, while registered capital dropped by 11.6% and labor decreased by 3.3%.
The average registered capital per newly established enterprise in July was approximately USD 270,000, down 1.8% from the previous month and 15.6% from July 2024. Additionally, 14,600 businesses resumed operations, a 1.6% increase from the previous month and a 78.3% surge compared to the same period last year.
From January to July 2025, the total number of newly established businesses reached 107,700, with a total registered capital of roughly USD 36.5 billion and 670,000 registered employees.
These figures represent increases of 10.6% in the number of businesses, 5.5% in registered capital, and 11.6% in employment compared to the same period in 2024.
The average registered capital per new business in the seven-month period was approximately USD 338,000, marking a 4.6% decrease from 2024.
The total additional capital injected into the economy in the first seven months of 2025 amounted to more than USD 130 billion, a 93.7% increase compared to the same period last year. Moreover, 66,300 businesses resumed operations, an increase of 49.8%, bringing the total number of newly established and returning businesses during this period to 174,000 - a 22.9% rise over the same period in 2024. On average, 24,900 businesses were either newly established or returned to operations each month.
By economic sector, the first seven months of 2025 saw 949 newly registered businesses in the agriculture, forestry, and fisheries sector, up 0.7% year-on-year; 23,600 in the industry and construction sector, up 3.1%; and 83,200 in the services sector, marking a 13.1% increase.
In July, 7,300 businesses registered for temporary suspension, up 14.2% from June and 7.4% from July 2024. Meanwhile, 4,400 businesses temporarily ceased operations pending dissolution procedures, down 56.4% from June and 37.7% from the same time last year. A total of 1,900 businesses completed dissolution procedures, a 29.4% decline from June but a 5.4% increase compared to July 2024.
Cumulatively, in the first seven months of this year, 88,600 businesses suspended operations, up 13.6% year-on-year. Another 41,500 enterprises temporarily ceased operations pending dissolution, a 16.7% increase, while 14,300 completed dissolution procedures, up 20.5%. On average, 20,600 businesses exited the market each month.
