VietNamNet Bridge – Striker Nguyen Ngoc Thanh and goalkeeper Nguyen Manh Dung will be participating in the 2014 World Cup qualifiers' training session, according to the Viet Nam Football Federation.

Thanh, 29, will replace Le Tan Tai, who is still recovering from a knee injury, while Nguyen Manh Dung, who plays for V-League side Hoa Phat Ha Noi, is standing in for Duong Hong Son, who withdrew from the national squad for personal reasons.


The team take part in a two-week practice session, under the supervision of new coach Falko Goetz from Germany and assistants including Mai Duc Chung and Nguyen Van Sy, at HCM City's Thanh Long Sports Centre today.


Goetz, 49, will be hoping to get off to a good start when Viet Nam meet Macau in the first leg of their World Cup Asian Zone qualifying match at HCM City's Thong Nhat Stadium on June 29.


The second leg will be played in Macau on July 3.


The national team signed a sponsorship deal with Japanese Credit Bureau International in Ha Noi yesterday, June 14.


The Olympic team will meet Saudi Arabia away on Sunday and again in Ha Noi on June 23.
