The CJ HK Entertainment will focus on making films and TV series this year and in 2018.
“We will develop our company to be one of the country’s leading film studios, and produce five feature films per year, accounting for around 30 per cent of the country’s film production,” said a CJ HK Entertainment representative.
CJ HK Entertainment will release two films Thang Nam Ruc Ro (Brilliant Months and Years) and Nguoi Bat Tu (Immortality) in late December.
Thang Nam Ruc Ro by talented director Nguyen Quang Dung is a Vietnamese version of a Korean blockbuster, called Sunny. It is about urban women, their loves and work.
The film features movie stars Hong Anh and My Duyen, winners of the Golden Kite prizes for Best Actress presented by the Viet Nam Cinematography Association.
Young actresses Hoang Anh, Hoang Yen Chibi and Khong Tu Quynh are also included.
Nguoi Bat Tu is the 10th production of Vietnamese-American film director Victor Vu, a graduate of Loyola Marymount University in the US.
The film portrays the life of An, a young woman living in a small village in northern Viet Nam.
It stars Dinh Ngoc Diep and Quach Ngoc Ngoan, both of whom have performed in several winning-prize films and TV series.
French actor Francois Negret was invited to play a leading role in the film.
The film includes beautiful scenes of landscapes in Quang Binh and Quang Ninh provinces.
Both films, Nhung Thang Nam Ruc Ro and Nguoi Bat Tu, are in post-production.
