VietNamNet Bridge – The exhibition "New Form 1" is the debut event of the Sculpture Gallery, the first contemporary sculpture space of Hanoi’s artists.

Compared with painting, sculpture in Vietnam is disadvantaged since it does not have a market, lacks investment, financing and lack a foundation.

In this context, contemporary sculpture artists have attempted to overcome the stereotypes of traditional sculpture to open new directions in thinking and creative abilities. The sculptors living and working in Hanoi implemented the New Form project with the desire to find new creative direction and experience a professional working environment.

The New Form project has the participation of sculptors: Khong Do Tuyen, Le Lang Luong, Nguyen Huy Tinh, Nguyen Huu Thai, Pham Bao Son, Pham Thai Binh, Thai Nhat Minh and Tran Trong Tri. The project lasts for 30-36 months, divided into three phases: Finding and developing ideas, finding solutions to implement the ideas, and the result exhibition.

The New Form 1 exhibition is also the event to launch the Vietnam Sculpture Gallery.

The exhibition introduces the first works of the above artists in the first phase of the project, which took place from January to October 2013.

Besides the participation of contemporary sculptors, the exhibition has the participation of audio artist Nguyen Van Thao and designers Pham Dam Ca, who provided design solutions for the exhibition, from logos, banners to the explanation for each work.

The exhibition will last until December 6 at the Vietnam Sculpture Gallery, 12 Quan Su, Hanoi.
