VietNamNet Bridge – Being held on a monthly basis since summer 2011, “Keep Your Passion” has lured many rock fans and music lovers in general.

“Keep Your Passion” is a series of rock shows held at bars and coffee shops throughout Vietnam. The program was kicked off in Hanoi in July, with one show a month. Guests are new-generation rock bands.

“Keep Your Passion” aims to attract audiences of all classes so rock shows are organized at both luxurious bars and popular coffee shops.

The time for monthly shows is not fixed. Each show is different in style. The opening show in Hanoi on July 24 had the participation of three rock bands of three styles: Ngu Cung (Progressive), Final Stage (Death Metal) and Nu Voltae (Nu Metal). The August show featured the wild style of Texas, USA, with Oringchains, Thrasher, The Saturday, Aurora and Coming Undone bands.

Nguyen Duc Quynh, deputy director of RP Media, the show organizer, said that “Keep Your Passion” will enable rock bands to bring their music to the audiences of all classes, in open spaces.

“I personally like listening to rock music in close spaces like bars or cafes rather than big stages. The space is small but the audiences’ overenthusiasm is great,” said Viet Dung, 20, from the Hanoi Architecture University.

After the show in September in Hanoi, “Keep Your Passion” will go to other cities.
