Nearly 23 million students nationwide celebrated the official start of the 2020-2021 school-year on September 5 morning.

The new school year is already nearly a month old, but many schools are suffering teacher shortages.

More than 24 million students across the country began the 2019-2020 academic year following brief and solemn ceremonies without balloons today, September 5.

With the new school year set to start on September 5 most schools around the country are fully prepared to welcome students though a few others are worried about a shortage of classrooms.

The Ministry of Education and Training (MoET) has encouraged schools not to release balloons on their new academic year events.
