Travel agencies are implementing a number of promotion programmes with new tours and improved service quality as travel demand increases during the summer.

Agencies revealed that registrations for summer tours have increased by nearly 80 percent compared to those in other seasons, with a focus on sea tours.

Vietravel, one of the largest travel companies in Vietnam, has opened more than 20 new routes to serve the increasing demand of holidaymakers.

It introduced new tours to the sea and island paradises of Co To Island in northern Quang Ninh province, Ly Son island in central Quang Ngai, and Tuy Hoa beach in central Phu Yen province, whose natural beauty remains untouched.

The company is also offering discounts up to 57 percent on several tours to the Mekong Delta and central regions, as well as applying preferential prices in outbound tours to the US and the UK.

The company expects to serve 180,000 tourists during this summer, up 30 percent from the same period last year.

Along with new tours to beautiful beaches, Vietrantour and HanoiRedtours have also strengthened cooperation with airlines, including national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines and Jetstar Pacific, to diversify their products.

Master plan for Mt Ba Den tourism development announced

The southern province of Tay Ninh has announced its master plan for developing the Mount Ba Den National Tourist Area through 2020.

The area, once completed in 2020, is anticipated to draw around 4 million arrivals and will need a total investment of 169 million USD.

The construction of parks, museums and places for ritual activities are also included in the plan.

Ba Den is the highest mountain in Vietnam’s southeast region with an abundant spectrum of pagodas and caves.

Some upgrades have recently been installed including cable cars, restaurants and shopping malls to serve more than 2 million tourists each year.
