Newly-elected Nepali Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai was sworn in by President Ram Baran Yadav at the presidential residence here on Monday.

Bhattarai, who was elected the country's 35th prime minister on Sunday evening, took the oath of office and secrecy.

On the occasion, newly-appointed Deputy Prime Minister Bijaya Kumar Gachchhadar also took the oath of office.

Outgoing PM Jhalanath Khanal, Speaker Subash Chandra Nembang, leaders of various political parties and dignitaries from foreign diplomatic missions, among others, attended the function.
