VietNamNet Bridge – On the morning of September 11, 100 police officers of the central province of Nghe An joined farmers of Hung Nguyen district, Nghe An province to save rice in flood.

On the field of Hung Thong commune, dozens of policemen waded in flood water to reap and carry rice from fields.
Holding a rice bundle with around 30 percent already sprouted in his hands, Phan Tuan Anh, Secretary of the youth chapter of Nghe An Police Agency, said: “Coming with farmers, we understand their hardship. We will try to help them reap rice as soon as possible.”

Members of the youth chapter of Hung Nguyen district and 60 soldiers from Nghe An military committee also joined the movement.
Groups of volunteers of Hung Nguyen district have come to 23 towns and communes to help local people reap rice.

Hung Nguyen is the most flooded district in Nghe An province. Hundreds of hectares of rice are submerged in water though it has gotten dry for three days. Many fields are up to 1 meter submerged.
If rice is not quickly reaped, it will be rotten.
