VietNamNet Bridge – Young mid fielder Ngo Hoang Thinh scored a decisive goal during injury time to help Vietnamese League leaders Song Lam Nghe An beat Hong Kong's TSW Pegasus by 3-2 during an Asian Confederation (AFC) Cup game played in Hong Kong yesterday, May 4.

Their second leg win pushed Nghe An to second place in Group F with nine points after five matches. Pegasus is still number one with nine points and a better head-to-head goal difference.


The hosts took the lead 35 minutes into the game when Leandro netted the ball from a spot kick. Play maker Phan Nhu Thuat equalised 10 minutes after with a penalty kick.


Nghe An were down to 10 men when mid fielder Tuan Anh was sent off with a second yellow card in the 67th minute.


Although Leandro Carrijo scored again to put Pegasus in the lead by 2-1, Kavin Elroy Bryan of Nghe An levelled the score in the 84th minute.


Mid fielder Ngo Hoang Thinh scored his decisive goal from a 20m free kick during injury time, helping his team win a thrilling game.


The Nghe An-based team need a home-turf draw in their last match against the bottom placed Maldives team VB Sport in order to secure a place in the knock-out stages.
