‘Ngọt In The Spotlight’ will take place at 8pm on November 24 at Việt Xô Friendship Labour Cultural Palace in Ha Noi.

Besides featuring Ngọt’s popular songs like Em Dạo Này (You Recently), Không Làm Gì (Do Nothing) and Cá Hồi (Salmon) as well as new ones, the concert will also bring many surprises, like performances between the band and the ‘In the Spotlight’ orchestra that comprises of artists like musician Duc Tri, violinist My Huong and guitarist Tran Thang, directed by musician Hong Kien, the artistic director.

“We have been taken by surprise to receive the invitation to participate in ‘In the Spotlight’, as the invited artists in the previous years all have famous names with significant contribution to the country’s musical industry. Participating in the upcoming programme is both a happiness and honour to our band,” said Vu Dinh Trong Thang, the band’s lead singer.

“After six years of organising and introducing to the audience many grand artists’ names, we feel excited to organise our new musical series – ‘Contemporary’,” said Tran Thanh Tung, a representative of the programme’s producer - My Thanh Advertisement and Entertainment Company.

“‘In the Spotlight’ wants to get access to the music life of contemporary Vietnamese youth – a big market of V-Pop. Young artists are the target that ‘In the Spotlight’ aims at,” he added.

In addition, the producers wish to connect parents and their children via music. The concert is hoped to allow them to enjoy music and share emotions, said the producers.

For Ngọt, one of the country’s most promising independent bands, participating in a large event like ‘In the Spotlight’ does cause pressure.

“We therefore have set high artistic targets in renewing our works as well as introducing our new musical products in this concert,” Thang said.

Ticket prices for ‘Ngọt – In the Spotlight’ range from VND300,000 to 2,000,000 (US$13-86) and can be purchased via ticketbox.vn.

Established in 2013, the band has won the hearts of young audiences with songs on simple daily topics like love, family and friends.

Before releasing their first album, many of their songs became popular on YouTube, including Quan Điểm (View), Xanh (Green), Cho Tôi Theo (Let Me Follow), Em Dạo Này (You Recently) and Cá Hồi (Salmon).

Ngọt (Sweet) have also won two awards, New Artist of the Year and Song of the Year for Em Dạo Này (You Recently) at the Cống Hiến (Devotion) Awards 2018.
