Musician Nguyen Bach.
On March 6, musician Nguyen Bach and his colleagues released information about the "Piano Sings" at a press conference in Ho Chi Minh City.
This year's program is named "Around the World on 88 Keys". The major performers include: Thach Thai Do Quyen, Le Thi Minh Trang and Doan Le Thanh Tu.
There are about 10 guest pianists: Luong Sa Huynh, Nguyen Thi Minh Tien, Vu Thi Phuong Tran and Pavel Kushnir from Russia.
Pavel Kushnir casually knew about the "Piano Sings" on the Internet. He contacted the organizers to express his wish to join Vietnamese colleagues in the show.
The show will also have the participation of two stringed instrumentalists – Tran Duc Minh (double basse), Bui Anh Son (violin), and two chamber singers - Huynh Loi, Nguyen Thi Thanh Nga.
The artists will lead the audience to "look around" the world of classical music through selected works by well-known composers such as: Antonio Vivaldi, Beethoven, Chopin, Tchaikovsky,, Georges Gershwin, S. Rachmaninov ...
For the first time, the show will have a combination of harmonica with piano through the presence of two artists Hoang Manh Ha and Nguyen Hoang Lien Son. The performance of the symphony orchestra and nearly 150 members in the two choirs of children and adults (from the Music School of B.A.C.H) promises to bring more emotion to the audience.
The program will take place at 20h on March 16 at the HCM City Opera House, No. 7 Lam Son Square, Ho Chi Minh City. Ticket prices are from VND150,000 to VND400,000, available at the HCM City Opera House.
The "Piano Sings" was launched in 2009, by musician Nguyen Bach, at the HCM City Conservatory of Music. It was immediately praised by the audience. In 2010, the program was held with the theme "Piano and the rest" (Piano and other instruments of the orchestra). In 2011, with the theme "Dance on the Keyboard", “Piano Sings” was selected by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism as one of 10 outstanding cultural events of the year.
