
This morning, at the first session of the Thanh Hoa People’s Council for the 19th tenure, delegates approved a report from the provincial Election Committee on the results of the election of People’s Council deputies and confirmed their eligibility.
During the session, the council elected the chairman and vice chairmen of the Thanh Hoa People’s Committee for the 2026-2031 term.
Nguyen Hoai Anh, a member of the Party Central Committee and chairman of the Thanh Hoa People’s Committee for the 2021-2026 term, was re-elected to continue serving as chairman for the new term.
Born in 1977 and originally from Da Nang, he holds a master’s degree in public administration management, is trained as an architect and also holds a bachelor’s degree in English.
He has previously held several key positions, including Standing Deputy Secretary of the former Binh Thuan Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’s Council; Standing Deputy Secretary of the Lam Dong Provincial Party Committee; and Deputy Secretary of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Thanh Hoa People’s Committee.
Nguyen Hong Phong elected chairman of the provincial People’s Council
At the same session, delegates also voted to elect key leadership positions of the Thanh Hoa People’s Council for the 19th tenure.
As a result, Nguyen Hong Phong, an alternate member of the Party Central Committee and Standing Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, was elected chairman of the People’s Council for the 2026-2031 term.
Le Tien Lam, Standing Vice Chairman of the People’s Council, and Nguyen Quang Hai, Vice Chairman of the 18th tenure, were re-elected as vice chairmen of the People’s Council for the new term.
