The Nguyen Hue Flower Street 2017, an annual biggest and most anticipated event welcoming the lunar New Year in Ho Chi Minh City will be organized from January 25-31 (on December 28- January 4 of the lunar calendar).

This year’s event themed “The city named President Ho Chi Minh- glorious inspiration” will describe Ho Chi Minh City as a dynamic, civilized, and modern city. The flower street will spread from Nguyen Hue-Le Thanh Ton crossroad to Nguyen Hue-Ton Duc Thang junction with a total length of 720 meters.

It will be divided into three sections featuring different sub-themes: “Spring in the city named President Ho Chi Minh, modern-civilized city, and glorious inspiration.

The area around Statue of late President Ho Chi Minh will be filled with 36 giant pots of yellow apricot flower, peach blossom and lotus.

A family of 17 chickens, including a cock, a hen and 15 chicks will be placed at the gate in the corner of Le Loi and Nguyen Hue streets as sacred objects of the year.

The flower street will feature a Vietnamese map; a fountain; the city’s architectures, such as Ben Nha Rong (Dragon House Wharf), Ben Thanh Market, Phu My Bridge, Saigon City Hall (Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Head Office); a 16m-long lake of lotuses;  the metro system which is under construction in the city.

The flower show is one of the events receiving the highest expectations of people during Tet holidays, aiming to highlight Vietnamese Tet culture and has been held for 13 consecutive years, attracting more than one million visitors each year.

The must-see site on Tet holidays is sponsored by the HCMC Government, Saigontourist Holding Company in partnership with other agencies and businesses in the city.
