The competition is currently taking place at the Darwin Convention Center in Australia.

During the first round on April 29, Nhat suffered a defeat to his rival Lee Fook. However, the Vietnamese Muay Thai fighter quickly turned the tables on his opponent and went on to win the second and third rounds to record a fantastic 30-29 win over his strong opponent.

Nhat’s next fight will be against French fighter Lorenzo Sammartino in the semi-finals which will take place on April 30.

Elsewhere in the competition, Vietnamese martial artist Nguyen Tang Quyen lost to Almar Sarsembekov of Kazakhstan 29-30 in the 57kg category.

Whilst Vietnamese fighter Truong Thi Hong Nga also made it to the semi-finals, reaching the penultimate stage of the women’s 63.5 kg category. She will be competing at 15:30 this afternoon.
