Nguyen Van Duoc was born in 1968 and hails from Tay Ninh province. He holds a master’s degree in geology. He is a member of the Party Central Committee for the 13th and 14th terms and a delegate of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Council for the 2026-2031 term.
He has an extensive career background in the former Long An province, where he held multiple positions including director of the provincial Land Use Rights Registration Office, head of the Natural Resources and Environment Division in Thanh Hoa district, deputy director and director of the provincial Department of Natural Resources and Environment, secretary of Tan Thanh District Party Committee, vice chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, and standing deputy secretary of the provincial Party Committee.
In October 2020, at the 11th Congress of the Long An provincial Party Committee, he was elected secretary of the provincial Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term.
On February 19, 2025, he received a decision from the Politburo assigning him to join the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee and serve as deputy secretary for the 2020-2025 term.
At the 21st session of the 10th People’s Council, he was elected chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee for the 2021-2026 term.
On October 14, 2025, at the first Congress of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term, he was appointed deputy secretary of the municipal Party Committee.
In addition to Vo Van Minh as chairman, the vice chairmen of the People’s Council were also elected, including Nguyen Van Tho, Nguyen Van Dung, Huynh Thanh Nhan, and Nguyen Truong Nhat Phuong.
The vice chairmen of the People’s Committee were also appointed, including Nguyen Loc Ha, Nguyen Manh Cuong, Bui Xuan Cuong, Hoang Nguyen Dinh, Bui Minh Thanh, and Nguyen Cong Vinh.
