From four printed pages of the painting in the newspaper, readers cut and assembled a panoramic picture of the "Dien Bien Phu Victory" that is 3.21 meters long.

Le Quoc Minh, a Central Party Committee member, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, and Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association, stated that the judges highly praised the project’s uniqueness and creativity.

They acknowledged that the special edition successfully conveyed Vietnam’s historical narrative in a novel and engaging manner, effectively connecting the younger generation with the nation’s past. This approach has significantly increased the interest and involvement of young readers.

In honor of the 70th anniversary of the Battle of Dien Bien Phu (May 7, 1954 - May 7, 2024), Nhan Dan Newspaper launched a special information campaign. The May 7 daily edition featured an additional 12 pages, including a four-page panoramic painting of the Dien Bien Phu Campaign, depicting over 4,500 characters.

This artwork vividly portrayed Vietnam’s revolutionary struggle under the leadership of the Party and President Ho Chi Minh, inspiring creativity and serving educational and propaganda purposes.

Readers were encouraged to cut out the special edition pages and assemble them into the panoramic painting, which they could display in their living rooms, public spaces, or share on social media platforms.

Over 200 articles were published related to this project, and even after a week of the historic May 7 event, the demand for this publication remained high. To meet reader demand, Nhan Dan Newspaper decided to print an additional 100,000 copies of the supplementary edition through community funding.

Within just one week, the interactive exhibition of the " Dien Bien Phu Victory" panorama painting took place simultaneously in Hanoi and Dien Bien, attracting nearly 30,000 visitors.

The exhibition featured a circular panoramic painting with a diameter of 5.5 meters and a height of over 3 meters, enhanced with augmented reality technology and a 360-degree model experience.

Artist Luong Xuan Doan, President of the Vietnam Fine Arts Association, shared with VietNamNet: "We consider this a remarkable achievement by young artists, bringing a highly deserving work to Vietnam’s contemporary art scene. It honors the Dien Bien warriors and the loyal soldiers of General Ho, inspiring both creativity and respect."
