VietNamNet Bridge – Hoa Phat Hanoi’s Nigerian striker, Timothy Anjembe, has been fined VND10 million ($500) and suspended from four matches at V-League 2011, for insulting referees in the game between his club and Khanh Hoa last weekend.

Within three days after the penalty decision was made; the striker has the right to lodge an appeal to the Vietnam Football Federation’s Complaint Solving Department.

“Timothy swore at referees several times in that game,” said Nguyen Hai Huong, head of VFF’s Discipline Department.

Huong said that Timothy didn’t prostrate himself before referees as some local newspapers reported. He only raised his hands and swore at referees.

Referee Nguyen Van Dong and his assistants also denied the information that Timothy kowtowed them. They only confirmed that the striker swore at them.

VFF’s Discipline Board has also imposed a VND10 million fine and a four match suspension on Brazilian coach assistant of Navibank Saigon Club, Artuc Emilio D.Olivera Quedes, for screaming against and pointing his hand to the face of a referee in the game against SHB Da Nang on April 24.
