HCM City authorities have allowed the operation of tourist river bus and night food street services at Bach Dang Wharf on the Saigon River.

Bach Dang Wharf recently resumed operations after being closed for a year for improvements. This is part of Bach Dang Wharf Park planning project by SaigonTourist.   

Under the project, District 1 will be connected to Thu Thiem new urban area in District 2 via two bridges over the Saigon River. Meanwhile, underground parking lots and shopping centres on Ton Duc Thang and Ham Nghi Street will be linked to metro stations.

The project implementation has to preserve historical sites, including Tran Hung Dao Statue and Thu Ngu flagpole.

According to the HCM City plan on developing waterway tourism products for the period 2017-2020, Bach Dang will become the central tourism pier.
