The joint parade rehearsal is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. Ahead of this, military and police units will move from their suburban camps to inner-city assembly points to prepare.
Military vehicles and artillery units participating in the parade were already transported into the city on the nights of August 18 and 19.
Following this rehearsal, all participating forces will engage in another rehearsal session and then two preview and full-dress rehearsals before the official parade and march-past on the morning of September 2.
Spectators may watch from a distance along designated streets. Residents are advised to follow traffic routing announcements and avoid traveling in the restricted areas.
The commemorative event for the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day will feature several segments, including a traditional torch relay and a flag-raising ceremony.
The official parade includes an air salute by the air force, followed by marching formations such as honor guards, infantry troops, the Vietnam People’s Army, foreign military contingents, local militia, guerrilla units, and police forces.
Parade route through central Hanoi
After passing the grandstand at Ba Dinh Square, the parade columns will disperse along seven directions, proceeding through central Hanoi streets.
Staging areas for the parade units:
Military marching units will assemble on Phan Dinh Phung and Hoang Hoa Tham streets, while stationary formations will gather at Bach Thao Park.
Police units will stage on Phan Dinh Phung Street.
Civilian and mass organization groups will gather on Quan Thanh Street.
Armored and military vehicles will stage at the intersection of Hung Vuong Street and Phan Dinh Phung, along Thanh Nien and Nghi Tam streets.
Civilian formations will stage at Bac Son Street and the intersection of Ton That Dam Street and Doc Lap Road.
Dispersal routes after passing the grandstand:
The honor guard unit will turn left at the end of Hung Vuong Street, then proceed via Nguyen Thai Hoc - Trang Thi - Trang Tien streets to August Revolution Square.
The foot marching columns of the military, foreign forces, local militia, and police will follow four possible routes:
Route 1: Turn right from Hung Vuong onto Le Hong Phong - Ngoc Ha to reach Bach Thao Park.
Route 2: Turn left from Hung Vuong onto Nguyen Thai Hoc - Trang Thi - Trang Tien to August Revolution Square.
Route 3: Turn right from Hung Vuong onto Nguyen Thai Hoc - Kim Ma - Lieu Giai - Van Cao to Quan Ngua Stadium.
Route 4: Turn left from Hung Vuong onto Nguyen Thai Hoc - Le Duan to Thong Nhat Park.
The mobile police and mounted units will turn right onto Le Hong Phong - Ngoc Ha to return to their staging area at Bach Thao Park.
The red flag unit will turn right onto Le Hong Phong, form eight vertical lines, and proceed via Doi Can - Giang Van Minh - Kim Ma - Lieu Giai to Quan Ngua Stadium.
Mass organizations and the culture-sports block will continue straight on Hang Chao alley to their designated point at Hang Day Stadium. Symbolic vehicle floats will turn right onto Nguyen Thai Hoc and regroup at Trinh Hoai Duc Street.
Armored tank and tracked vehicles will proceed to the Ministry of National Defense Headquarters.
Wheeled military vehicles will follow two routes:
Route 1: From the grandstand to Cua Bac - Nghi Tam - Au Co - Vo Chi Cong - Duong Lang - Tran Duy Hung - Thang Long Boulevard - Le Quang Dao - F1 racetrack.
Route 2: From the grandstand to Nguyen Thai Hoc - Giang Vo - Lang - Tran Duy Hung - Thang Long Boulevard - Le Quang Dao - F1 racetrack.
