Nine provincial chairs elected last week

The provinces of Bac Giang, Bac Kan, Binh Dinh, Da Nang, Dong Thap, Ninh Binh, Thai Nguyen, Tien Giang and Thanh Hoa last week elected their top official - the chair of the local People's Committee.

The new chairman of the northern province of Bac Giang is Mr. Le Anh Duong, who was born in 1966 in Ninh Binh province, and holds a master's degree in economics.

Duong used to be Deputy Chief of the Office of Bac Giang Provincial People's Committee; Chairman and Party Secretary of Tan Yen District of Bac Giang province; Vice Chairman of Bac Giang Provincial People's Committee; and Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee.

Bac Kan province’s new chair is Mr. Nguyen Long Hai, who was born in 1976 in Phu Tho province and holds a doctoral degree of law.

Hai used to hold the positions of Secretary of the Secretariat of the Vietnam Youth Union, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Youth Union of Quang Ninh Province, Chief of the Office of the Vietnam Youth Union, Secretary of the Vietnam Youth Union, and Standing Vice Chairman of People's Committee of Lang Son province.

On December 7, he was assigned to the position of Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Bac Kan Province.

Mr. Nguyen Phi Long, Chairman of Binh Dinh Province

The newly elected chairman of Binh Dinh Province is Mr. Nguyen Phi Long, 44, who holds master's degrees in business administration and transport.

In 2018, Long was assigned by the Secretariat of the Central Party Committee to join the Executive Committee, the Standing Committee of Binh Dinh Provincial Party Committee for the term 2015-2020.

Previously, Long held the positions of Secretary of the Vietnam Youth Union for the 2012-2017 term, and Chairman of the Vietnam Youth Union for the 2014-2019 term.

The People’s Council of Da Nang City elected Mr. Le Trung Chinh as the city’s chairman.

Chinh was born in 1969 in Da Nang city and has a PhD degree in education management.

Chinh used to hold the positions of Rector of Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted in Da Nang; Director of the Da Nang Department of Education and Training; Party Secretary of Ngu Hanh Son District of Da Nang, Da Nang’s Vice Chairman and Deputy Secretary of Da Nang Party Committee.

Mr. Pham Thien Nghia, Chairman of Dong Thap Province

Dong Thap province’s new chairman is Mr. Pham Thien Nghia.

Nghia, 54, holds a master's degree in economics. He previously held various positions in local government agencies, including Deputy Party Secretary, Vice Chairman and Chairman of Dong Thap province.

Mr. Pham Quang Ngoc, Deputy Party Secretary of Ninh Binh Province, was elected the province’s chairman.

Ngoc, 47, holds a PhD degree in economics. He has held various positions such as: Chairman and Party Secretary of Yen Khanh District; Head of Propaganda Department of Ninh Binh Provincial Party Committee; Vice Chairman of Ninh Binh Province.

Mr. Trinh Viet Hung, Chairman of Thai Nguyen Province

In Thai Nguyen province, Mr. Trinh Viet Hung, Deputy Party Secretary and Standing Vice Chairman, was elected the province’s Chairman.

Hung, 43, has a doctoral degree in business administration. He has held many positions in Thai Nguyen province such as Deputy Chief, Chief of the Provincial People's Committee Office; Party Secretary of Dong Hy District.

Mr. Nguyen Van Vinh, Chairman of Tien Giang Province

Tien Giang’s new chairman is Mr. Nguyen Van Vinh, who was previously the province’s Deputy Party Secretary and Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Internal Affairs Department.

Vinh was born in 1967 in Tien Giang province and has a master's degree in law. He used to be Deputy Party Secretary of Tien Giang, Head of the Internal Affairs Committee of Tien Giang Provincial Party Committee.

Thanh Hoa Province’s new chairman is Mr. Do Minh Tuan.

Tuan, 48, has a doctoral degree in economics. He has held various positions in the local government agencies, including Deputy Party Secretary, Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union, Party Secretary Trieu Son district.
