After a match-fixing scandal involving Ninh Binh players in the AFC Cup came to light last year, the club's boss Hoang Manh Truong decided to break up the V-League 1 team and withdraw from the League. But he retained young teams that were likely to play in the event two or three years later.

However, Truong has now decided to dissolve all teams and the club will not take part in any national events.

Ninh Binh are likely to disappear from Viet Nam's football map after nine years of existence.
