In the men’s category, Le Quang Liem scored only 4.5 points after seven games, two points less than the Chinese champion Yu Yangyi, and ranked 11th.

In the women’s category, Nguyen Thi Thanh An had the best result - ranking 12th in the end. Meanwhile, No. 1 female player of Vietnam - Pham Le Thao Nguyen – ranked 15th after seven matches.

In related news, the FIDE has published its July rankings. Vietnam’s top player Le Quang Liem ranked 33rd in the world for standard chess, with Elo 2712. Magnus Carlsen of Norway ranks first with Elo 2862.
